In sports there are no borders, and it often gives you excitement, memorable moments and friends for life. Sports are also a matter of struggle, honour and glory and a noble fight for medals. For the participants in The World Transplant Games the big victory is already won – thanks to the gift of life, an organ donation.
Göteborg is now preparing for hosting the 18th World Transplant Games in 2011. We can guarantee Games full of warmness, engagement and fun. During one week in June we will fill the city with competitors from more than 60 countries. And they all have one thing in common; they all have got a new organ. That’s their ticket to the Games!
The most visible Games ever
Most of the competitions will be held right in the City Centre, open for the public. In total there are 14 different sports; Swimming, Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Squash, Boule, Golf, Bowling, Athletics, Road Race, Floor Ball and Cycling.
