Q and A
ACCOMODATION & FOOD
Q: Is it possible for a family of three to have a family room and just pay for three (even though one bed is not used)
A: Yes, this is no problem at all.
Q: What are the bed choices in a family room? Is there a double bed and two singles for example or perhaps two double beds?
A: In the family room, there will be a double bed or 2 twin beds, together with a sofa bed. The sofa bed sleeps one adult, or 2 children. We recommend not more than 3 in a room, but it can fit 4 if the children are relatively young.
Q: Could you please confirm that accommodation for extra nights (either before or after the Games) can be booked when people register on-line.
A: Yes, you can book your additional nights via the registration system, both pre- and post the Games. If anyone would like to arrive even earlier or stay even longer, they can book this directly via Kristin Graf at MCI, our hotel partner,
kristin.graf@mci-group.com
Q: If
a family want to register the wife and the two children and have them
accommodated in the one room, how does he show that when he does the
registration?
A: All of the family do need to register individually,
except the children if they are younger than 3. When they tick the
family room, 2 additional boxes will appear. In one box they will write
the wife’s name, in the other box they will write the 2 kids names. It’s
good information if also the age of the children is mentioned.
Q: I am handicapped and need an accessible hotel room with a shower seat. Will this be a problem?
A: This should be no problem according to our hotel partner.
Q: Is it possibly to have a suite instead of a 3-bed family room?
A: The family room is included in the registration fee.
If you would like to have a private suite, you could book this at
additional cost via Kristin Graf at kristin.graf@mci-group.com
Q: I know the costs include all meals, but what if we just want breakfast included?
A: Unfortunately this is not an option that we offer. We only have the all-inclusive deal, including all meals.
Q: What is the earliest checking in time and the latest checking out time for the hotel?
A: Usually the checking in time starts at 14.00 and latest checking out time at 12.00. But there can be deviation among the hotels
Q: The information concerning additional nights is confusing when receiving confirmation after registering. Can you clarify how to book additional nights?
A: If
you are arriving on the 16th June and have filled that in under Travel
Information, this will show on your confirmation letter. BUT, you also
NEED to tick the box under Accommodation saying additional nights for
June 16th. Otherwise you have not booked accommodation for June 16th,
you have only told the transport team that you will be arriving on that
day. The transport page and the accommodation page are separate from
each other, providing different information.
If
you are departing on the 24th June, you SHOULD NOT tick the box for
additional nights on the 24th. Doing so, indicates that you will depart
from Gothenburg on the 25th and it will also add an extra cost of 600SEK
to your confirmation.
If
you need to book any additional nights, in addition to the ones
bookable in the online registration system, (for example 25th 26th), you
need to do this via WTG 2011s travel partner: kristin.graf@mci-group.com
If
you have experienced some difficulties or need to amend your booking,
add or remove additional nights, you need to go in and amend your own
booking. You do this by using your confirmation number.
Q: Can I choose type of bed in the double room?
A: Yes,
you can make a request regarding bed types in the double room. The
alternatives are: Double bed = one bed or Twin bed = two single beds.
Please note that your selection of bed types is just a request and we
will do our best to meet your choice.
If you want to modify your selection, do it this way: Go to http://www.wtg2011.com/default.aspx
and tick ”Register”. Chose and tick ”Modify your Registration”. Type
the e-mail address you used when you registered and the Confirmation
Number you received in a separate mail. Tick ”Edit” and go on until you
reach Accommodation Preferences. There you make your choice.
PARTICIPATING
Q: Can I participate in the games as an individual or do I have to be a part of a team?
A: You have to be a part of the team in your country. If you don’t know who to contact send us an e-mail info@wtg2011.com and we will give you name and e-mail address to your Team Manager.
PAYMENT
Q: If any make their registration but they not send the payment at any time and they can´t go , it will be some charge to Team Manager?
A: If a person registers before the 1st March but not send in the money before 1st April- the registration will be cancelled after informing this country´s Team Manager.
PRICEING
Q: I saw that the fee for non-athletes is also 4100 SEK. What exactly is included in this?
A: The fees are set by our federation WTGF. The local organization (in this case Sweden) have this time negotiated a lower alternative for people that don´t want to book accommodation via us. Non- athletes pay the same fee as athletes. 4100 SEK is the fee without accommodation and 6900 SEK is including accommodation.
The higher fee includes: "All inclusive" (hotel and all meals) in Göteborg between 17-24th June. Access to all arenas to view all sports, access to all symposiums (program for this is not set yet), ticket to Opening Ceremony, ticket to Swedish Evening (closing ceremony), free transport by bus and tram in Göteborg all week. The difference between these two fees is only that one include accommodation, the lower one is without accommodation and breakfast.
PROGRAM
Q: Do you have a program somewhere, if you are organizing symposiums/conferences etc as well?
A: Symposiums and program for this is not set yet.
SECURITY
Q: Which telephone number should I register to nearest contact person in case of emergency?
A. If the contact person is attending the WTG you should only enter a mobile number with country prefix otherwise your contact should be a person back in your home country.
SPORTS
Q: What is Virtual Triathlon?
A: This is an event with three sports, 3k running for women or 5 k for men, 400 m track and field and 20 k cycling. In the figure of maximum 5 events this is counted as three events.
Q: Which rules are you using in Badminton?
A: We are going to play using the new (since 2009) international rules meaning three sets to 21 and you count every ball. First to two set.
Q: What are the rules in Floorball?
A: Every team has 5 (five) players + a goalie. i.e. 5+1 players in the rink at the same time, at least one of whom must be a woman. Substitutes are allowed.
Q: What size is the Swimming pool?
A: We will use a 25 meter indoor pool and the water will be 27 degrees warm(!).
Q: Is there any sports events that living donors can compete in?
A: Yes, all non-athlete can participate in the Mini-Marathon, which is 5K for men and 3K for women.
TRANSPORT
Q: Will
I, although I’m handicapped, be able to take the public transportation
to the venues or will there be handicapped transportation available?
A: The public transport in Göteborg is currently
working on putting ramps in place, that will make the trams and buses
more accessible. If it’s not in place by the start of the Games, we will
make sure there will be handicapped transportation available.
