New sports
For the 18th World Transplant Games we want to introduce new sports – Floorball and Golf Foursome.
Floorball
The major reasons for putting Floorball on the agenda are:
- A young sport, can be played by everyone at all ages
- A fun sport
- Easy to learn - quickly equipment to every participant, free of charge
- Low risk of injuries
- Played by teams of 5-6 people
- Introduction before start
Golf Foursome
We want to introduce the foursome as a second event in golf, just like the doubles in table tennis, tennis and badminton.
Sailing - A part of the social events
The social activities during a World Transplant Game are important to us. That’s when people meet and you make friends for life. We will provide different activities such as music and party but also some try on. As Göteborg is situated in one of Sweden’s beautiful archipelagos we want you to taste a bit of that. To sail a small boat together with a new friend is an amazing experience. For one or two evenings we will provide such an activity close to Göteborg. We will use a type of boats called 2-krona, they are easy to sail even for a beginner and safe.
