Tennis
Location
The
venue for the tennis competition is
Ullevi Tennis Club. Approximately
a 10 minutes walk from Valhalla Sports Centre in the centre of
Göteborg.
The club has
6 indoor courts and 1 warm up court. The courts are made of
hardcourt. (Plexipave)
Rules
The
Tennis competiton is played in categories acording to age in singels
and doubles. No age categories in mixed. Juniors compete only in
singles.
The
competition is played in a “Round Robin” format in the first
round. The groups will consist of 3 or 4 players in each group where
everyone meets everyone within the groups.
After the “Round Robin”
competition, the winner, in the group of three players, and the
winner and second placed player, in the groups of 4 players, goes on
to play the “Knock out” rounds.
Every match is played “First to 8 games”. The winner has to win by two games, i.e 8-6. To separate even players at 7-7 tie Break is used first to 7 points (2 points difference).
In
case of shortage of space due to big interest in the tennis
competition of the World Transplant Games tennis competition, a
second venue will be in use with the same standard of courts and
facilities. All matches within a category will be held at the same
venue.
The
tennis competition of the 2011 will be played by the rules set by
International Tennis Federation.

Ranking
Ranking
is based on the players 2 (two) previous results from the tennis
competitions of World Transplant Games, Thailand 2007 and Australia
2009.
Equipment
Every
player brings his/hers own equipment.
Ullevi Tennis Club has a well
equipped pro shop that can help in every aspect of equipment, ex.
Restringing and regriping tennis rackets.
Tennis balls will be
provided at the venue.
