Children’s program

The Mayflower Association is the national association that has been fighting Child poverty in Sweden since 1907. All children has the right to participate on equal terms with their friends. Founded in Göteborg in 1907 and spread around the world by Mrs Beda Hallberg from Göteborg. Every year more than 100 000 Children and 15 000 adults in Sweden are participating in the fundraising activities. Children are helping children by selling ”Mayflowers” in more than 700 local non profit organisations in Sweden. The organisation “Majblomman” gives contributions to children from 0 -18 years with the purpose that all children have the right to participate on equal terms with their friends in school and at their leisure time. Majblomman has a wide network among children in Sweden. More than 3000 out of 5000 Schools in Sweden are participating inthe Majblomman activities every year. Majblomman also arrange summer Camps at the Galtarö camp site, 50 km north of Göteborg at the Galtarö peninsula. The Organization has long experience of arranging theme days and “get together” activities for children.

 

Together with LOC, Majblomman plans for activities for children; a visit to the Galtarö camp site, a day in the beautiful Bohus archipelago, crab fishing with Swedish children, motor- and sailing boats, beach volleyball, a day at the beach, Meeting swedish children and families, get together activities and exchanging pins, souvenirs, gifts etcetera with swedish children.
