The Gold coast is certainly a valid name for the Swedish transplant athletes. The results from tuesdays competions are two golds and one bronze.
The cyclist Ulrika Svantesson is a rookie in the Swedish team but she isn´t here to watch and learn. The Blond Flash from Högsby in the south of Sweden took a stranglehold on everyone in Cycling Time Trials 5 kilometers and took the gold.
- The tracks were great and I had a good race, Ulrika says with a big smile.
The next gold was almost expected. Anette Wirén, from Lund close to Malmö, took the gold in womens singles in Badminton. She has been dominating her agegroup in many WTGs and there were no exceptions in these games. Anette won against a girl from the UK.
There was also a bronze medal waitin for the Swedes today. Gustav Wallén, from Uppsala just north of Stockholm, and Anette Wirén won the third price in a good game against a Belgian team.
There is more hope for medals in the days to come when the Swedish team will be out competing. Watch out for the yellow and blue shirts with the big big smiles on their faces!
