The warmest welcome to Göteborg 2011

We welcome the World Transplant Games Federation, competitors and accompanying persons from countries all over the world to Sweden and to Göteborg in 2011.

Transplanted athletes from Sweden have participated in many World Transplant Games, almost since the beginning. Yes, we sure have travelled the world. Time has now come for us to be the generous hosts and to get a chance to give back some of the generosity, warmness and fun that we have received during the years.

We want to show the world and all Swedes hundreds of success stories from people that have received the gift of life.

We want to use the Games for research, Donor Recognition Program, and for special programs that targets medical staff on our hospitals in Sweden.

We want to say a special welcome to the children. Together with the Mayflower organisation we have made a special program where they can meet Swedish kids and participate in special activities.

We want to make the 2011 Games the most environmentally friendly ever, including cars and buses driven by gas or ethanol, and with a minimum of transportation. There will be walking distances to all hotels, to the Games Village and to most of the arenas.

At last – we offer a warm, safe and fun city for the 2011 World Transplant Games, at the very best time of the year – the Swedish summer. The light, the colours and the friendly people, all together will give all visitors lifetime memories from the 18th World Transplant Games in Göteborg.

See you in Göteborg 2011
